The PSAT
The PSAT is a preliminary SAT, a shortened version of the official
SAT, and it is given once a year in October at individual high schools. The
scores are for student and parent information and planning only and are not sent to colleges. PSAT scores from 11th grade test-takers automatically
become part of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation Program, which identifies top scholars across the nation.
National Merit Semi-Finalists and Finalists are eligible for scholarships and special recognition.
Registration
for the PSAT at CdM takes during registration and in the fall.
All CdM juniors will be taking the PSAT during College Day on
Wednesday, October 12.
PSAT scores will be available at the CdM PSAT Scoresback
Night on December 13.
What to Bring on Test Day:
Bring your admission
ticket, acceptable photo ID, two No. 2 pencils (no mechanical pencils), acceptable calculator and possibly water and a snack
for breaks. No food is allowed during the test.
It is strongly recommended that you register well in advance for an ACT, SAT and subject tests
as test space at CDM is limited. If you do not register early, be prepared to be assigned to another test
site.
If requesting special test accommodations, please contact your guidance
counselor well in advance of the test date. Paperwork and verification of needs may take up to two months.
Late registration requires an additional fee and is subject
to space availability.
